Prescribed application forms can be had from the Office of the Registrar (except on Sundays and holidays) either personally or by sending a self addressed envelope on payment of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 500 for SC/ST/PWD) by way of DD in favour of WBNUJS, Kolkata, payable at Kolkata.
The application form can also be downloaded from the University website www.nujs.edu and submitted along with the prescribed fee of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 500 for SC/ST/PWD) as indicated above.

Essential and Desirable Qualifications:
Professor(Law): EQ: An eminent scholar with Ph.D in Law along with published work of high quality; actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of ten publications ; a minimum of ten years of experience in University/ College, and or experience in research at the National level institutions including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level. Outstanding teachers with 15 years of UG teaching/research experience or an outstanding scholar with established reputation who has made significant contribution to knowledge may also be considered. DQ: Specialisation in International Law, Public Law and Commercial Law.
2 Librarian : EQ: (1): A Master’s Degree in Library Sciences from a recognised University or its equivalent..(2) At least thirteen years as a Deputy Librarian in a University Library or eighteen years experience as a College Librarian..(3) The candidate must be between 35 to 55 years of age as on 15/11/2013. DQ: Should have a strong background in Library systems management and should be highly proficient in computerized library management systems preferably in Legal institutions.. Should also possess sound knowledge of prevalent national standards, statutory provisions and good practices with respect to Library management & relevant MIS, ERP solutions. A M.Phil/Ph.D degree in library science /information science /documentation/archives and manuscript –keeping.
Assistant Professor (Law) : EQ: (1) Good academic record with at least 55% marks or, an equivalent grade of B in 7 point scale at the Master’s degree level(Law) from an Indian University or, an equivalent degree from a foreign university. (2) Candidates should also have cleared the NET for lecturers conducted by the UGC, or similar test accredited by the UGC or Ph.D in Law as per UGC guidelines. DQ: 1. Teaching/Research experience at University/College level at least for one year. science /documentation/archives and manuscript –keeping.
Assistant Professor (Sociology) : EQ: (1) Good academic record with at least 55% marks or, an equivalent grade of B in 7 point scale at the Master’s degree level(Sociology) from an Indian University or, an equivalent degree from a foreign university. (2) Candidates should also have cleared the NET for lecturers conducted by the UGC, or similar test accredited by the UGC or Ph.D in Sociology as per UGC guidelines.
DQ: 1. Teaching/Research experience at University/College level at least for one year. Notes: (1) University reserves the right not to fill up any of the vacancies advertised if the circumstances so warrant.
(2) University reserves the right to consider candidates of outstanding merit who may not have applied.
(3) Relaxation of any of the qualifications may be made in exceptional cases on the recommendation of the selection committee.
(4) Separate application is required for each post.
(5) Special provisions in favour of SC/ST and PWD will apply as per norms.
(6) All posts other than leave vacancy post are on a permanent basis subject to confirmation of probation , on completion of one year of probation satisfactorily
