Applications are invited for the below mentioned posts. The last date for receipt of applications in the office of the Commission is 06.03.2014.
Casa J.D. Fernandes Stationery Supplier, Printers & Book Binders, Opposite Municipal Garden, Panaji, are authorized to sell the prescribed
application form @ ` 20/- per set. Candidate can also download and use the application form available at GPSC website. The Commission does
not take the responsibility of supplying application forms by post. Candidates should see the GPSC website for latest updated “Instructions”.
2. Candidates shall note that the Application Fee is enhanced to ` 400/- for General Category Candidates and those for SC, ST, OBC, Physically
Handicapped and Ex-serviceman, it is 50% of the Application Fee i.e. ` 200/-. The application form should be accompanied by an Indian Postal
Order or Demand Draft for the amount equivalent to the application fee payable to “The Secretary GOA PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION”
payable at Panjim.
3. Incomplete applications in any manner are liable to be rejected summarily by the Commission.
4. The upper age limit shown against each post is relaxable upto 5 years for the candidates belonging to SC/ST, upto 3 years for candidates
belonging to OBC, upto 5 years (total 10 years for SC/ST & 8 years for OBC in respect of posts reserved for them) to blind, deaf-mute and
orthopedically handicapped person and upto 5 years for CFF. Age is also relaxable for Government Servants upto 5 years as per the instructions
issued by the Government from time to time.
5. In case of non-availability of suitable candidates with the knowledge of Konkani, for the posts in professional colleges, Consultants in
Directorate of Health Services and highly technical/scientific posts, this requirement can be relaxed.
6. Prescribed EQs are minimum & mere possession of same does not entitle the candidates to be called for interview. Where number of
applications received is large, the Commission will short list the candidates to be called for interview as mentioned in the “Instructions”.

I. GOA MEDICAL COLLEGE
1. Lecturer in Medicine ..… 2 posts (1 resvd for OBC)
Scale of Pay: Rs. 15,600-39,100+6,600/- Age: Not exceeding 45 years.
Educational & Other Qualifications:-
Essential: (i) A recognised Medical qualification included in the First or the Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than
licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also
fulfill the conditions stipulated in Section 13 (3) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. (ii) Post Graduate degree qualification in the speciality
concerned or equivalent. (iii) At least 3 years teaching experience in the concerned speciality as Senior Resident/Registrar/ Tutor/Demonstrator
in a Medical College/Teaching Institution. (iv) Knowledge of Konkani.
Desirable: Knowledge of Marathi.

II. GOA DENTAL COLLEGE & HOSPITAL
2. Lecturer in Oral Medicine and Radiology ….. 1 post
Scale of pay: Rs. 15,600-39,100 + Rs. 5,400/- Age: Not exceeding 42 years.
Educational & Other Qualifications:-
Essential: (i) A qualification included in Part I or Part II of the Schedule to the Dentists Act, 1948 (16 of 1948). (ii) Post-Graduate qualification in
Dentistry i.e. Master of Dental Surgery in concerned speciality/subject from a recognized Institution or equivalent. (iii) Should be registered
with Dental Council.
(iv) Knowledge of Konkani. Desirable: (i) One year teaching experience after post graduation in a recognized institute. (ii) Three years
experience as Registrar/Tutor/Senior Resident/Demonstrator in the concerned speciality of Dentistry in a recognized Dental College/Medical
College with Dental Wing/Dental Institution. (iii) Knowledge of Marathi.

III. DIRECTORATE OF AGRICULTURE
3. Assistant Agriculture Officer …..4 posts (2 resvd for ST, 1 resvd for OBC)
Scale of pay: Rs.9,300-34,800+4,200/- Age: Not exceeding 42 years.
Educational & Other Qualifications:-
Essential: (i) Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture/Horticulture from a recognised University. (ii) Knowledge of Konkani.
Desirable: (i) 3 years experience in Agriculture/Horticulture. (ii) Knowledge of Marathi.

IV. GOA GAZETTEER DEPARTMENT
4. Research Officer .…1 post
Scale of pay: Rs.9,300-34,800+4,600/- Age: Not exceeding 42 years.
Educational & Other Qualifications:-
Essential: (i) At least 2nd Class Master’s Degree in Indian History or Political Science or Sociology from a recognized University or equivalent. (ii)
Minimum two years experience in conducting research in the respective branch of study (Qualifications relaxable at Commission’s discretion in
case of candidates otherwise well qualified). (iii) Knowledge of Konkani.
Desirable: (i) Doctorate Degree in History or Political Science or Sociology. (ii) Knowledge of Marathi.

5. Assistant Research Officer .…1 post
Scale of pay: Rs.9,300-34,800+4,200/- Age: Not exceeding 42 years.
Educational & Other Qualifications:-
Essential: (i) At least 2nd Class Master’s Degree in Indian History or Political Science or Sociology from a recognized University or equivalent. (ii)
Minimum one year experience in conducting research in the respective branch of study. (Qualifications relaxable at Commission’s discretion in

V. CAPTAIN OF PORTS DEPARTMENT
6. Assistant Hydrographic Surveyor …..1 post
Scale of pay: Rs.9,300-34,800+4,600/- Age: Not exceeding 42 years.
Educational & Other Qualifications:-
Essential: (i) Certificate of having passed the ‘Dufferin’ / ‘T.S.REJENDRA’ final passing out examination, OR Survey Recorder 1st Class of the
Indian Navy, OR Licentiate Member of the Institution (India) in sub-Div. 1(b) Hydrographic Surveying. (ii) 3 years practical experience either in
Indian Navy or Merchant Navy or Hydrographic Survey Organisation, including about 2 years practical experience in Hydrographic Surveying.
(iii) Knowledge of Konkani.
Desirable: Knowledge of Marathi.
