JOBS IN INDIAN AIR FORCE / RECRUITMENT RALLY FOR GROUP 'X' (TECHNICAL) TRADES AT GOLAGHAT DISTRICT SPORTS ASSOCIATION COMPLEX (GDSA), GOLAGHAT (ASSAM) FROM 21 OCTOBER 2013 TO 23 OCTOBER 2013

Indian Air Force offers opportunities for UNMARRIED MALE INDIAN CITIZENS from all the Districts of States of Assam, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura to become airmen.

The Recruitment Test for Group ‘X’ (Technical) Trades will be held at Golaghat District Sports Association Complex (GDSA), Golaghat (Assam) from 21 October 2013 to 23 October 2013 as per the Selection Programme given below.

Candidates reporting up to 10 AM at the Rally venue will only be permitted to appear in the Recruitment Rally.

Note : -  (a) Candidates should be born between 01 FEBRUARY 1994 to 31 MAY 1997 (both days inclusive). (b) Upper age limit on date of enrollment is 21 years.

You should have (a) Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English, with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. OR (b) Three years Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile / Computer Science / Instrumentation Technology /Information Technology) from a Government recognized Polytechnic Institute with minimum 50% marks in overall aggregate, and 50% marks in English in Diploma or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma. Note : - Exact aggregate percentage of marks up to first place of decimal for all subjects as mentioned in the Marks Sheet of Intermediate or 10+2/equivalent (For example, 49.9% should NOT be rounded off to 50%).

 To be eligible to appear in the rally at Golaghat District Sports Association Complex (GDSA), Golaghat (Assam) the candidates are required to satisfy the following conditions:-

(a) Should have passed the qualifying examination from any of the Recognized University

(b) The School/College/Polytechnic Institute from where candidates have passed the qualifying examination should be within the geographical/ administrative limits of States of Assam, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura. If the name of District is not mentioned with the name of Institution in the certificate/marks sheets of qualifying examination, the candidates are to produce 'Domicile Certificate' issued by SDM/DM/Executive Magistrate or any official authorised by the State Governments of Assam, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura to issue Domicile Certificate.

(c) Permanent Domicile of Assam, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura, who have passed the qualifying examination from any where in India..

(d) Sons of Serving/Retired/Discharged/Deceased Air Force Personnel, irrespective of their domicile status may be permitted to appear in the rally subject to submission of Son of Air Force Personnel Certificate as a proof in the following categories:-

i) Father/Mother is presently serving in any Air Force Unit located in the States of Assam, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura. (ii) Ex-IAF personnel/families of deceased personnel who are residing in the States of Assam, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura (on production of proof of minimum stay of one year along with Original and a photo copy of Discharge Book).

Medical standard (a) General Medical Standards for Group 'X' (Technical) Trades are as follows:

 (i) Height: Minimum height required is 152.5 cms. (ii) Chest: Minimum range of expansion is 5 cm. (iii) Weight: Proportionate to height and age. (iv) Corneal Surgery (PRK/LASIK) is not acceptable. (v) Hearing: Candidates should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately. (vi) Dental: Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points. (vii) Health: Candidates should be free from medical or surgical deformity. He should be free from all communicable diseases and skin ailments. Candidates must be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of world, in any climate and terrain.

Group 'X' (Technical) Trades involve jobs as given below:

(a) Automobile Fitter. In this trade you are responsible for maintenance and repair of all types of light and heavy duty mechanical vehicles, cranes and loading equipment etc. (b) Electronics Fitter. As an Electronics Fitter you operate and maintain Radar, Voice and Data transmission and reception equipment mounted on latest airborne weapon delivery systems and ground based air defense systems. You will get trained in Digital Electronics, measuring instruments, radar technology, latest electronic devices and related trade fundamentals. (c) Electrical Fitter. You will maintain power supply system of latest types of aircraft, airborne missiles and associated ground systems. You will also maintain photo equipment mounted on air borne weapon systems and operate ground based photo systems. You will get trained in electrical trade, operation and maintenance of digital devices, electronics devices etc. (d) Mechanical System Fitter. You will repair and maintain mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems of airborne missiles, engines, automobiles aircraft fueling equipment. Complete aircraft ground support equipment will also be repaired and maintained by you. You will be trained in handling and preparation of bombs and explosives and in electrical system, workshop and mechanical trades as well as automobile mechanics. (e) Structures Fitter. As Structures Fitter you are responsible for the maintenance and servicing of air frames and their accessories, components and controls of aircraft. Regular checks for the entire hydraulic and pneumatic system to ensure proper functioning against leaks are also part of your duties. You will also be assigned the responsibility of marshaling, parking, picketing and ground handling of aircraft. (f) Propulsion Fitter. In this trade you will repair, maintain and prepare for use the propulsion system of aircraft and other airborne weapon delivery system. (g) Workshop Fitter (Smith). You will undertake major structural repairs of all aircraft at central repair facilities. You will also be trained in workshop trade for material treatment, welding, heat treatment, smithy and basic machine tools etc. (h) Workshop Fitter (Mechanical). You will undertake repair and maintenance work of mechanical nature. You will be trained in workshop trade and practices. (j) Weapon Fitter. In this trade, you will prepare, maintain and service armaments, ammunition and safety equipment of aircraft, missiles and other weapon delivery systems. You will also operate and maintain small arms and bomb destruction equipment. You will be trained to handle bombs, explosives, arms and their installation on weapon delivery platforms

During training, a stipend of Rs. 8,550/-per month will be paid. On completion of training, starting gross emoluments at the minimum of scale of pay including Dearness Allowance(DA), will be Rs. 22,410/-per month (approximately) [Pay in Pay Band - (Rs.7,050/-)+Grade Pay - (Rs.2,000/-)+Military Service Pay (MSP)-Rs.2,000/-+Group X Pay (Rs.1400/-)+DA@80%- (Rs.9960/-) which, in subsequent years, may rise up to Rs. 39,546/-per month (approximately) [ Pay in Pay Band - (Rs.13,770/-) + Grade Pay - (Rs.4800/-) + Military Service Pay (MSP) - (Rs.2,000) + Group X Pay - (Rs. 1,400/-) + DA @ 80% - (Rs. 17,576/-)]as per sixth pay commission depending upon the rank attained. Other allowances such as Transport Allowance, Composite Personal Maintenance Allowance(CPMA), Leave Ration Allowance (LRA), Family Planning Allowance, GCB+Classn pay, HRA etc are also admissible to airmen.
